I and my wife recently went through a season or period of difficulty in our marriage, a lot happened and it really wearied us out. We were novices in this space of marriage, as we have a long way ahead of us. We entered into the scene and to our utmost surprise, found out that we didn’t know as much as we thought we knew.
At those times, I questioned if I actually married God’s will and I am sure she too had those thoughts. I felt like the world was already coming to an end and I am sure she felt betrayed by my actions. I reasoned from all angles, at a point I considered divorce or separation, at another time, I felt I should be a little morepatientwithmyfamily, especiallyaswenow have two blessed children together.

To make matters worse, we had attitudes raise its ugly heads. Kai! You know how it can be, skin pain everywhere, we needed to nd someone who we could trust and conde in. When we did, it brought more confusion, it generated more offence, it caused more bitterness, people were bound to take sides. “LORD WHERE ARE YOU IN THIS STORM OF OURS?” Was an important question we would all ask ourselves.
Eventually, I found out we were not odd, we were not special in the sense that our challenges were out of human character or history. I found out that almost everyone have experienced this season where money – the lack of enough money or general discussion about money begins to made the atmosphere tensed. I found out that the season of child bearing and raising was also lled with its own stress and expectations from both parents. In fact, I found out that most couples are still in bonding phase around the 3-5 years of their marriage and to what extent they manage this fuse would determine how far they will go.
