Vessel Change: Embracing Divine Transformation
As I put my pen down to start this piece, it occurred to me: Every minister reading this book right at this very moment, YOU, YES, YOU, can do more, could have done more, if not for….. a lack of Vessel Change: Embracing Divine Transformation
“MOAB HAS BEEN AT EASE FROM HIS YOUTH, AND HE HAS SETTLED ON HIS LEES [like wine] and has not been drawn off FROM ONE VESSEL TO ANOTHER, neither has he gone into exile. THEREFORE HIS TASTE REMAINS IN HIM, AND HIS SCENT HAS NOT CHANGED”.
Jeremiah 48:11 (AMPC)
What does it mean to settle on one’s lees? Not to have been moved from one vessel to another?
Every profession has standards and requirements for admission and training, each of these professions have its basis for grading each applicant and student, if they qualify, they will be given certification recognizing them for their efforts and their successful pass through the course or school program.
This is therefore the reason why vessel change is required. The Lord might have met you a fornicator, a liar, a thief, a murderer and what have you, he extended the gift of salvation to you, he showed you his vision for your life which is that of service to him in a particular calling, ministry or office. However, none of this would be a reality without vessel change: Embracing Divine Transformation.
“In a palace, you find many kinds of containers and tableware for many different uses. Some are beautifully inlaid with gold or
silver, but some are made of wood or earthenware; some of them are used for banquets and special occasions, and some for everyday use.
But you, Timothy, MUST NOT SEE YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY THIS WAY. YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY MUST NOT BE DISGRACED, for you are to be a pure container of Christ and dedicated to the honorable purposes of your Master, prepared for every good work that he gives you to do.”
2 Timothy 2:20-21 (TPT)
He expects YOU that was lazy, uneducated, ignorant, rebellious, carried away by the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lust that comes from it, should be transformed into a person who is a prayer addict, a student of the scripture per excellence, a consecrated, dedicated and sanctified believer, a child of God that is ever interested and led by the will, the voice and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
This is the kind of person that qualifies to wear the garment of his or her ministry’s office, carry and operate in the power the office expresses, and carry out the responsibilities the office demands. This is a vessel change: Embracing Divine Transformation.
However, once you refuse to undergo the required changes necessary to go ahead or complement your calling, office and ministry, you become Moab (figuratively) that is settled on his lees. It is God’s expectation that you change your vessel and transform into his perfect will.
Dear, heavenly Father as every minister, believer go through this piece enable them to change their vessel and your perfect will be done in their lives in Jesus name, Amen.
