Ministry Begins with Reputation
” Before your message is heard, your character is seen—ministry stands on the foundation of a good reputation, Ministry Begins with Reputation.”
“A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold.” Proverbs 22:1 AMP
Ministry is such that it cannot function when a person’s character is in disrepute. Ministry is not effective when people are suspicious of you as a minister.
Ministry becomes fruitless when the pastor or his wife has a contentious attitude, Ministry Begins with Reputation.
Ministry is not done in isolation without the input of those in the society or community; therefore, the opinion they have about you matters a lot and goes a long way to either establish your ministerial efforts or annul them.
“And he must have a good reputation and be well thought of by those outside the church, so that he will not be discredited and fall into the devil’s trap.” 1 Timothy 3:7 AMP
The devil wants to discredit your ministry.
The devil wants to disgrace your ministry.
The devil wants to defame your ministry.
The devil wants to cast aspersions on your reputation.
The devil has many traps, one of which is “hearsay.”
As a minister, if somehow, you like the shadows, if somehow you prefer the darkness, if somehow your activities are always behind closed doors, you open yourself up to the trap of the devil.
And as they say, give him (the devil) a anger, and he shall have the whole hand, Ministry Begins with Reputation.
