As I put my pen down to start this book, it occurred to me: Every minister reading this book right at this very moment, YOU, YES, YOU, can do more, could have done more, if not for….. a lack of vessel change: this is more of the major cause of a ruined and premature ending of one’s ministry.
In this book, as the Lord has stirred me to write, I’ll share with you, people whose ministry ended because of their inability to change, to conform themselves to the form or to meet up to the requirement of the great calling, ministry and anointing the Lord desires they work in. Why?, As said earlier, one reason is a lack of vessel change. “MOAB HAS BEEN AT EASE FROM HIS YOUTH, AND HE HAS SETTLED ON HIS LEES [like wine] and has not been drawn off FROM ONE VESSEL TO ANOTHER, neither has he gone into exile. THEREFORE HIS TASTE REMAINS IN HIM, AND HIS SCENT HAS NOT CHANGED”.

What does it mean to settle on one’s lees? Not to have been moved from one vessel to another? What does it mean for a minister’s taste to still remain? What does it mean for one’s scent not to change? What is the implication and repercussion of the above questions?

THE REASON FOR VESSEL CHANGE
“In a palace, you find many kinds of containers and tableware for many different uses. Some are beautifully inlaid with gold or silver, but some are made of wood or earthenware; some of them are used for banquets and special occasions, and some for everyday use. But you, Timothy, MUST NOT SEE YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY THIS WAY. YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY MUST NOT BE DISGRACED, for you are to be a pure container of Christ and dedicated to the honorable purposes of your Master, prepared for every good work that he gives you to do.”
2 Timothy 2:20-21 (TPT)
The secular academic system is just a mirror of how the system of the calling into ministry, the training that each ministry demands, the grading system for each ministry qualification and for ceremonial conferment of ministry office, the power that goes with the office, responsibilities that comes with the office and a garment that suits and is specially recognized for and by the office one operates in.
This is therefore the reason why vessel change is required. The Lord might have met you a fornicator, a liar, a thief, a murderer and what have you, he extended the gift of salvation to you, he showed you his vision for your life which is that of service to him in a particular calling, ministry or office. However, none of this would be a reality without vessel change.
