Ministry Is Based On Frugality
“In a world driven by excess, true ministry thrives on simplicity—where every penny is a purpose and every act is a mission, Ministry Is Based On Frugality”
“There is precious treasure and oil in the house of the wise [who prepare for the future], But a short-sighted and foolish man swallows it up and wastes it.”
Proverbs 21:20 AMP
No one will eventually teach you that anointing in itself is never enough. It takes a combination of the anointing and other character determinants to walk worthy of your calling and fulfill your ministry. One of which is the discipline of not being wasteful with the financial resources you currently have at your disposal, Ministry Is Based On Frugality.
They say, “The best time to do the right thing was yesterday; however, the next best time to do the right thing is NOW.” This is a crucial point. The economy isn’t friendly, particularly in the terrain called ministry.
In most parts of the world, it’s quite expensive to do ministry. What I mean is to follow the trend or fashion that goes with being involved in the work of ministry. Take, for instance, the venue must be at a choice place, easily locatable. It must be convenient to stay in; it must be well-ventilated, if possible, air-conditioned. It should have a big stage screen; it gives the ambience of wealth and comfort.
If you spend all your resources trying to catch up with the trend that is here today and gone tomorrow, if you are not smart or gifted with foresight, you will be spent on things that, at the end of the decade, have no more value to the stability and growth of your ministry, Ministry Is Based On Frugality.
However, ministry is expensive, whether you are in the rural area or the cities. You will spend and be spent. Yet, it is wise to cut your coat according to your size and spend within less than 20% of your income, be it monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
To be prodigal means to be wasteful. Yet, many of us don’t consider our futures, we don’t consider our families, we don’t consider our children, we don’t consider our health; we spend it all! It only shows how short-sighted you are. If you don’t learn from this chapter, in fact from this book, you will learn nevertheless, however, from the school of hard knocks.
Don’t spend it all. Even in the house, if we spend all our money on rent, house rent, church rent, when would you be able to have a spare to buy lands and build? If you spend all on foodstuff, as it’s the norm now in most homes, how do you intend to save aside for a better, less pressured, and more affordable lifestyle?
“Wise people save the nice things they have. Fools use up everything as soon as they get it.” Proverbs 21:20 ERV
That member will not be there forever.
Those partners will not be there forever.
The job you have won’t stay forever.
The ministry you have now is dependent on your ability to be like the snake that lives on less.
The ministry you have now is dependent on your ability to be self-sufficient like the snake (without depending on anyone’s pocket).
