Ministry Rooted In Gratitude And Remembrance
Behind every minister is a trail of unseen hands—those who prayed, gave, encouraged, and stood by. Ministry Rooted In Gratitude And Remembrance always gives thanks, never forgetting the vessels God used along the way.
“Now, let me introduce to you our dear and beloved sister in the faith, Phoebe, a shining minister of the church in Cenchrea. I am sending her with this letter and ask that you shower her with your hospitality when she arrives. Embrace her with honor, as is fitting for one who belongs to the Lord and is set apart for him. So provide her whatever she may need, for she’s been a great leader and champion for many—I know, for she’s been that for even me! GIVE MY LOVE TO PRISCA AND AQUILA, MY PARTNERS IN MINISTRY SERVING THE ANOINTED ONE, Jesus, for they’ve risked their own lives to save mine. I’m so thankful for them, and not just I, but all the congregations among the nonJewish people respect them for their ministry. Also give my loving greetings to all the believers in their house church. And greet Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the Roman province of Asia, for I love him dearly. And give my greetings to Miriam, who has toiled and labored extremely hard to benefit you. Make sure that my relatives Andronicus and Junia are honored, for they’re my fellow captives who bear the distinctive mark of being outstanding and well-known apostles, and who were joined into the Anointed One before me. Give my regards to Ampliatus, whom I love, for he is joined into the Lord. Romans 16:1- 8 TPT
I recently came across this chapter in a renewed sense. I wouldn’t say I haven’t read this chapter of Romans before, however, it makes more sense now than it did back. Can you relate?
It is a godly attribute to be a thankful person. I find it uncommon among ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This attitude Apostle Paul displayed here is a strange one, as not many ministers I know publicly acknowledge the help of others in attaining the height they have gotten to in ministry or even in the Lord. We tend to ascribe everything to God, and yes, God is involved in everything, as “no man can receive anything that has not been given to him from above, Ministry Rooted In Gratitude And Remembrance
” Yet, God chooses to use men for His glory. However, it is sad that the culprits of ungratefulness and unthankfulness are first ministers. They make light of every good gesture done to them. They try to use the “if he or she doesn’t do it, God will bring someone else who will. Have you heard such a statement before? I have also made those kinds of statements before but I realized Ministry Rooted In Gratitude And Remembrance pays a lot.
I remember one brother whom God used mightily to bless me financially. One day, there was a misunderstanding. The brother had started misbehaving, and as though it was yesterday, I remember where I was. When I told him, “If you leave now, God will still raise others to do what you do,” should I gist you the aftermath of that statement? The brother did leave, although not at that season, but he did leave. From the time he left, we thank God, God has been taking care of us, through other means and persons, yet not in such ways as that brother did. It was like there were no two people alike. The good things we enjoyed from that particular brother ceased, and every now and then, I wish he could come back and continue blessing me and the ministry. That’s how bad I have missed him. I can see the difference now.
The same holds for every one of us. Let’s stop being ungrateful. One of the signs of the last days is not only sin but unthankfulness.
Isn’t it surprising that people will find it hard to honestly say “THANK YOU”? These are basic manners everyone was taught as a child to imbibe, yet there is a foul spirit that stops us from being thankful, that stops us from remembering every good thing done to and for us. How sad! Isn’t it strange that people only remember the wrong done to them, after they’ve been in close relationships with a person for so long, how come they only have done evil to you and not good?
Dear servant of God, be like the Apostle Paul and be thankful. Don’t allow evil spirits into you. Mention names of people who have blessed you, who have helped you, who were there for you, who supported you, who defended you, who imparted to you, who prayed for you, who introduced you to good things and good people.
Gratitude opens doors, ingratitude shuts doors. Knowledge opens doors, ignorance shuts doors. Humility opens doors, pride shuts doors.
You want open doors?
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
