Ministry Thrives On Faithfulness, Not Fame
In a world obsessed with likes, followers, and applause, it’s easy to confuse visibility with value. But in God’s eyes it’s expected that Ministry Thrives On Faithfulness, Not Fame, the true measure of ministry isn’t how popular you are—it’s how faithful you remain when no one is watching.
“So then, let us [who minister] be regarded as servants of Christ and stewards (trustees, administrators) of the mysteries of God [that He chooses to reveal]. In this case, moreover, it is required [as essential and demanded] of stewards that one BE FOUND FAITHFUL AND TRUSTWORTHY.” 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 AMP
Being faithful to most of us has been overrated. We think we know what it means to be faithful; we even preach or teach it in our ministries. Yet, are you faithful? A typical pastor, nowadays, breaks away from a church or ministry that teaches faithfulness to the Lord, to the ministry, and to the set-man of that ministry he or she serves in, yet preaches loyalty, faithfulness, and commitment to people who come into his or her own ministry work. How absurd! It’s called selective morality or righteousness.
Let’s consider the faithfulness of two people in the Bible, while they were here on earth.
“Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, [thoughtfully and attentively] consider the Apostle and High Priest whom we confessed [as ours when we accepted Him as Savior], namely, Jesus; HE WAS FAITHFUL TO HIM WHO APPOINTED HIM [Apostle and High Priest], AS MOSES ALSO WAS FAITHFUL IN ALL GOD’S HOUSE. [Num 12:7] Yet Jesus has been considered worthy of much greater glory and honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. Now Moses was faithful in [the administration of] all God’s house, [but only] as a ministering servant, [his ministry serving] as a testimony of the things which were to be spoken afterward [the revelation to come in Christ]; [Num 12:7] but Christ is faithful as a Son over His [Father’s] house. And we are His house if we hold fast our confidence and sense of triumph in our hope [in Christ].” Hebrews 3:1-6 AMP
Here, Jesus and Moses are accredited as being faithful.
To be faithful goes far beyond teachings.
To be faithful goes far beyond talking about it. To be faithful goes far beyond being a yes-man. To be faithful goes far beyond when things are exciting.
To be faithful goes far beyond when things are working smoothly.
To be faithful goes far beyond when you are in the limelight.
Here, we see two things that establish the faithfulness of Jesus and Moses:
1. Faithfulness to Him who appointed him (faithfulness to God, faithfulness to God’s servant whom he submits to or pastors under).
2. Faithfulness to God’s house (to the ministry, to the work He entrusts under your care, to the assignment He gives to you, and most of all, to the people He sent you to).
“So then, let us [who minister] be regarded as servants of Christ and stewards (trustees, administrators) of the mysteries of God [that He chooses to reveal].” 1 Corinthians 4:1 AMPÂ To be deemed faithful, you will need to be a steward. Being a steward means a person who manages another’s property or financial affairs; one who administers anything as the agent of another or others. A person who has charge of the household of another, buying or obtaining food, directing the servants. Ministry Thrives On Faithfulness, Not Fame
When God wants to honor you in ministry, in front of the people He sends you to, He entrusts a certain measure of revelation to you as a steward.
When God wants to honor you in front of His people, He entrusts you with a certain level of miraculous power.
When God wants to honor you, He gives you a certain level of grace.
When God wants to honor you, He gives you a certain level of gifts.
When God wants to honor you, He gives you a certain level of influence.
When God wants to honor you, He gives you a certain level of prophetic utterance and revelation.
However, it is required, it is a necessity that with this much power, with this much authority, with this much influence a man must be a steward.
He must put himself under accountability. He must represent himself as one who has nothing of himself, rather, it is entrusted to him
