Orderliness In The Church
“When there is Orderliness In The Church, God’s presence flows — Discover why orderliness is the foundation for a thriving church.”
“The reason I stationed you in Crete was so that you could SET THINGS IN ORDER and complete what was left unfinished, and to RAISE UP AND APPOINT CHURCH ELDERS IN EVERY CITY, just as I had instructed you.”
Titus 1:5 TPT
One of the major sights of structure in a ministry or organization is what I call ORDER. In any field where there is disorderliness, where anybody does whatever, and no form of accountability and discipline is given, there you will find every evil work.
Paul left Titus in Crete, not particularly to preach or evangelize, but rather to set things in order, and one element that enables order is leadership, HEADSHIP! In this chapter part, I’ll like us to take a quick look at the part of the body that is responsible for providing order to the entire complexities of the human body.
THE BRAIN
The brain controls what you think and feel, how you learn and remember and the way you move and talk. Generally, the brain can be referred to as a central processing unit that controls all of the body’s functions.
FUNCTION
It enables:
i. Thoughts and decisions.
ii. Memories and emotions.
iii. Movement, balance and coordination.
iv. Perception of sensation.
v. Regulation of organ function.
vi. Speech and language function.
This is a robust definition of the brain.
HOW IT RELATES TO YOUR MINISTRY
The scripture tells us emphatically that,
“But all things should be done with regard to decency and propriety and in an orderly fashion.” 1 Corinthians 14:40 AMPC
Without order,
a. There will be confusion.
b. There will be a misuse of power.
c. There will be wastefulness.
d. There will be loss of opportunities.
e. There will be strife.
f. There will be factions.
g. There will be stunted growth.
h. There will be a breakaway.
The reason I stationed you in Crete was so that you could set things in order, by raising up and appointing church elders in every city.
LEADERSHIP SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR.
Many senior pastors or pioneers do not have a clear-cut evaluation and qualification process to choose leaders, especially head leaders within critical or sensitive aspects of the ministry. However, the scriptures did not leave us ignorant on how to go about this. Let’s take a clue from Jesus on how he chose his leaders, from the apostles how they chose and then, look out for other qualifications the Apostle Paul shared with us.
