Interpreting Bible Prophecy

Few topics are as controversial today as Bible prophecy. Some say it’s too difficult, and therefore, no one can truly know how the end will come. Others argue it’s too controversial and divisive, so to preserve unity, we should avoid the topic altogether. Still others believe it’s irrelevant to everyday life, thus not worthy of our time and effort. Although these beliefs are prevalent today, the vast amount of biblical information seems to suggest otherwise. In fact, nearly one-fifth of the Bible is directly related to prophecy. This means that if we ignore Bible prophecy, we’re ignoring large portions of the Scriptures.

We believe that we cannot afford to be apathetic or skeptical toward the end times. According to Luke 12:40 (NASB), Jesus expects us to discern the times, be watchful, and be ready.

We are therefore encouraged to read and study the prophetic books of the Bible because it will bring us blessing. So, even though a study of Bible prophecy may be taxing and unpopular, we cannot afford to back away from this important subject.

I am doing my part to encourage a level of curiosity and love for this study, just as my teachers have impacted me. I pray you find this book in this study series a rekindler of such ire in Jesus’ name. Receive revelation and understanding as you study along with me!
