Taking Cities!
“We are not waiting for opportunities — we are taking cities!. One move at a time. Are you ready to dominate?”
The Lord our God gave us all their towns. That included Aroer, on the edge of the Arnon valley, the city in the valley and other towns all the way to Gilead. NO TOWN WAS TOO STRONG FOR US TO TAKE. But we did not go into the Ammonites’ country. We did not go into the Jabbok valley. We did not go near the towns in the hill country. The Lord our God had commanded us not to attack those places.”
Deuteronomy 2:36-37(EASY)
When it comes to taking cities, some rules must be followed, however, taking cities is part of taking territories. Without taking certain cities you won’t successfully take territories. That is why no city must be too strong for the taking.
When we say, we are taking cities, we mean we are influencing men, unseating certain men with wrong influence over the people. We are dethroning demonic entities and powers that be, we are canonizing men into the culture of the kingdom we represent and building buildings that establish God’s kingdom. All these take a decisiveness of purpose to do.
I want you reading this, to imagine taking territories as folding up the darkness by installing one set of lights to lighten your path until you have brought light to the whole surrounding that surrounds where you live and carry out day-to-day business.
If you are not taking over a house, a street, a town, one at a time, how do you eventually take cities that qualify you to take territories?. We live at a time where we talk much about taking territories, however only a few ever take them and if you observe closely, you will tell that these groups of people have been busy taking streets, and towns and contending for cities, they might have captured few and are now attempting to take territories. Yet most streets, houses, towns, and villages, are left untouched, abandoned to the demonic, cultural and political powers that be. However, this book is being and has been written to encourage us all to join the fight for city, village, community, street and household taking!
How do you do this? you might be wondering. The answer is to fight, yes I mean fight!
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT IN FIGHTING
1. You only fight to possess the cities and towns the lord God has expressly given to you.
I noticed that God gave the children of Israel a code of conduct that guides their affairs or decision making regarding contending for cities.
“The Lord our God gave us all their towns. We did not go near the towns in the hill country. The Lord our God had commanded us not to attack those places.”
One principle of spiritual warfare is, God is the initiator of his assignment, he does not need anyone of us to help him do that, so if you intend to take a city by planting your church or ministry there, you must first consult with all surety what God’s will is, in regards that town, community, village or city. Look at the express instruction God gave Moses when he started this journey of taking territories.
2. Take city one step at a time “He will chase out the people of those nations, one at a time.
He will not let you destroy them all immediately. If you did that, wild animals would become so many that they would be a danger to you.”
Deuteronomy 7:22 (EASY)
This is the process of taking every aspect of territory: strategic patience coupled with spiritual discernment is the key to taking territories.
Be careful not to be too hasty that you spread yourself thin, that you lack the grace to sustain the move. The scripture says he that believes does not make haste.
